Tanya Lyons
Tanya Lyons graduated with honours from the Sheridan College glass program in Oakville, Ontario. She spent a year on exchange at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, Finland, a month at the Atlin Art Centre in BC, developing concepts, and completed a one year graduate program at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Japan. She then finished a three year residency at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Canada, as well as teaching in the glass studio at Sheridan College for four years. Tanya then moved to Montreal and continued developing
work to explore her ideas of sculptural glass. She also started teaching in the glass program at the Haliburton School of the Arts in Ontario. For the last four years Tanya has been living in the countryside north of Montreal where she continues to use clear glass in combination with natural and found objects to express and show off her experiences, thoughts and questions about the world we live in and who we are. This work can be seen in the Museum of Fine Art in Montreal as well as in Quebec. Her work has also been purchased for public and
private collections in Europe, Asia & North America.
