Robyn Weatherley
Robyn Weatherley was born in Calgary, Alberta, where she also grew up. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction in Glass from the Alberta College of Art & Design (ACAD) in 2010 where she was also a Teaching
Assistant and Peer Tutor. She was awarded a number of scholarships and awards for her glass sculpture and conceptual artwork including the “Large Glass Award”, the “ACAD Pilchuck Glass Scholarship”, and the “ACAD Studio at Corning Museum of Glass Scholarship”.
Robyn currently resides in Philadelphia, PA and is pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree at
Tyler School of Art (Temple University). She has been awarded a Temple University Fellowship and Graduate Teaching Assistantship for the duration of her studies.
Robyn explores the continuously fluctuating relationships between corporeal experience and space through that
which is ordinarily invisible or intangible. As the physical body is the instrument where all of our perceptions are established and flourish, she investigates perceptual remnants such as light silhouettes and breath imprints.
In examining the connections between what is projected and what is perceived, she uses a variety of media to communicate her ideas including blown and kiln-formed glass, light, breath, video and photography.
