Colette Samson
Colette begins with an idea or feeling of what she wants to create in glass. She is drawn to the way glass interacts with light and its seductive qualities of transparency, translucency and reflection.
Her work seeks to evoke an emotion, a memory, to reflect nature in color, shape and texture. Colette’s ongoing series Limestone Barrens takes inspiration from the earthtones of the landscape of her native Newfoundland and Labrador, while her Happiness series is based on the idea that every color suggests a different emotion.
She likes the challenge of creating forms and expression, to never stop learning and exploring the possibilities with glass.
